Closed Circuit Television or CCTV is an increasingly growing market
and if you've tried to do any shopping for CCTV cameras and recorders
you know that there are so many offerings out there and such a wide
variety of prices that the more you look, the more confusing it becomes. I
won't attempt to tell you everything there is to know about CCTV, there
are other web sites that will attempt to do that. I will give you some of the
basics and tell you what to look for, and this make take a while so go get
you a cup of coffee and then come back and finish reading this.
There are multiple components that make up a CCTV system and any
one of them can make a significant difference in the quality of the video
that you will be watching. As a rule, you get what you pay for. A good
place to start is to decide how much money you're willing to spend and
then we can start matching components to fit your budget. It would be
money wasted to buy a top of the line camera and then use lesser grade
components for the rest of the system. Below you will find a short
explanation of each of the components that make up a CCTV system.
